Tasted neat in a Glencairn …

• Tasting Notes:  French vanilla, toffee syrup, nougat, sweet oak, frosted sugar cookie; creamy caramel, honey-glazed apple, light molasses, nutmeg, hints of pistachio; medium-long finish w/ brown sugar glaze, singed honey, sweet charred oak, diet cola, white pepper

• Impression:  So damn good. While extremely similar to “Hamburglar,” “Tyrone Monster” is (by a wee Turkey feather) the sweeter of the two. Dare I say it’s gooey? But seriously, nougat, frosted sugar cookies, and … pistachio? Hey - I call ‘em like I taste ‘em. It might just be this particular tasting, but I swear I discovered this pistachio note a few days ago. I’m not sure if it was this exact barrel, but it’s for sure on my mind (and in my glass) this evening. If you’re a fan of sweet bourbon you can’t go wrong with “Tyrone Monster.” This is a beast of a whiskey - a Tyrone F selection I’m confident will be remembered fondly like 2022’s “Gobble Eye.”
